American comedian and late night talk show host David Letterman’s house is in North Salem, NY.

The house is located on a 108-acre estate, which was bought in two phases – the first of 88 acres in 1994 for $5 million and the rest of the property for $5 million in 2007.

David Letterman’s net worth is $400 million. He has an estimated annual salary of $20 million, but in the past he is estimated to have earned up to $50 million in syndication and licensing fees.

In addition to hosting the “Late Show with David Letterman” he also owns the production company Worldwide Pants Incorporated, which owns the rights to the “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” and “Everybody Loves Raymond.”

David Letterman hosted “Late Night with David Letterman” on NBC until the network decided to hire Jay Leno for “The Tonight Show” after Johnny Carson retired in 1992. David Letterman moved to CBS and launched the "Late Show with David Letterman” in 1993. In 2014, he announced his intent to retire in May 2015.

In addition to his home in New York, he owns a ranch in Montana and a property on Martha’s Vineyard. His former long-time home in New Canaan (CT), and his ranch in Teton County (MT), are also featured on this site.

David Letterman and his wife Regina were married in 2009. They have one son, Harry Joseph Letterman.

He is active with several charities, including Doctors Without Borders and American Cancer Society. He also started The Letterman Foundation for Courtesy and Grooming, which he has used to donate millions of dollars to non-profits and charities in Montana and Indiana.

He also donates to Ball State University, his alma mater. The communications facility at the university is named for him, the David Letterman Communications and Media Building, which opened in 2007. He spoke at the dedication, including the “Top Ten good things about having your name on a building” in his speech. An annual scholarship at the university is also named for him.
