Ray (6/21/1944) and Dave (2/3/1947) Davies grew up the youngest of eight children and the only boys. They all lived in this home at 6 Denmark Terrace. It was here the brothers listened to the music hall and jazz of their parents, and the early rock and roll of their sisters.

The Kinks remained a band from 1963 to 1997. Some of their music: "You Really Got Me" (1964), "All Day and All of the Night" (1964), "Tired of Waiting for You", "Set Me Free", "See My Friends", "Till the End of the Day" (all 1965) and "Lola" (1970).
