A tunnel rescue train in Germany usually have two locomotives (here a DB Class 714), two transport cars (for personnel), a machine car, an extinguish car (with tank) and a medical car.

They are stationed in Hildesheim central, Kassel central, Fulda, Würzburg, Mannheim central and Kornwestheim shunting (near Stuttgart).
