De Havilland Comet (Street View) (StreetView)
This is De Havilland Comet c/n 6424 reg. N888WA. It was delivered to Mexicana in 1960 as G-AOVU and was re-registered to XA-NAR. It served there until being acquired by Westernair in 1972. However, it never actually served with Westernair due to a sale gone bad. 6424 stayed on ground at Mexico City until being bought by Redmond Air with the new registration N888WA. However, after delivery to Paine Field, it was grounded by the FAA. The steps needed in order to get the aircraft airworthy were too expensive, though, and it stayed on ground again. In 1984, it was given to the Museum of Flight and is currently under restoration.
