The exterior set of Calvin Candie's plantation house is under construction in this view. Most of the filming of the 2012 film "Django Unchained" took place on this land, known as the Evergreen Plantation.

The controversial film was written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. It stars Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio (who played Candie), Kerry Washington, Don Johnson, and Samuel L. Jackson.

Interior scenes of Candie's home were shot on a sound stage in nearby New Orleans.
