Donald Brennan is the former managing director and chairman of Morgan Stanley and vice-chairman of ICT Group.

One of the home's previous owners was U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom, publisher of the New York Herald Tribune, and president of the Museum of Modern Art, John Hay Whitney, who purchased it in 1930, as a wedding gift for his first wife, Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Altemus. The couple divorced 10 years later. Liz kept the property and lived there until her death in 1988.
