Donald M. Blinken is a leader in the fields of investment banking, education, and arts patronage. He was director and one of the founders of E. M. Warburg Pincus & Company, an investment bank in New York, was the board chairman of the State University of New York from 1978 to 1990 and American Ambassador to Hungary from 1994–1998 under President Bill Clinton.
He is the father of Tony Blinken, who served as U.S. Deputy Secretary of State from 2015 to 2017 and Deputy National Security Advisor from 2013 to 2015 under President Barack Obama and has been chosen by President-elect Joe Biden for the position of Secretary of State.
