Medley and her late husband purchased the home in 2005, around the time they got married, for $2.115M. Shortly after her husband's death, the home was listed for sale for $4.9M, but the listing was removed after 2 months.

The Real Housewives of New York is an American reality television series that premiered on March 4, 2008 on Bravo. It was developed as the second installment of the Real Housewives franchise, and has aired eleven seasons despite only focusing on the personal and professional lives of random well to do women residing in New York City.

The current cast consists of Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan, Dorinda Medley, Tinsley Mortimer and Leah McSweeney. Previous cast members include original cast members Bethenny Frankel, Alex McCord, and Jill Zarin; and featured later additions Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Cindy Barshop, Aviva Drescher, Heather Thomson, Carole Radziwill, Kristen Taekman, and Jules Wainstein. The success of the show has resulted in the conceptions of spin-offs Bethenny Ever After and Bethenny & Fredrik. Dorinda has not had such luck to earn a spinoff however.

Medley has a net worth of $20 million. She is best known for appearing on the hit Bravo reality series, The Real Housewives of New York City, and also for her philanthropic work throughout the City. Medley began by making cameo appearances on the series in earlier seasons as the friend of Countess LuAnn de Lesseps and Ramona Singer, but joined the show as an official cast member during Season 7.

Medley was married to Richard Medley, Partner and hedge fund advisor at George Soros and chief economist for the US House Banking Committee, in 2005. He was her second husband. Following Richard's death in 2011 at just 60 years old, she began to rebuild for the next chapter of her life away from the cameras.
