On Sunday 11th September 2022, Paul K9PM/P, a radio amateur from Box Elder, SD reached the summit of Double Crater and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 52 contacts in total working on the 60, 40, 30, 20, 15 and 10 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Double Crater Is 2440 metres (8005 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
