I love the old aquamarine and white on this building. The color scheme is so out of favor now that it isn't easy to find existing examples anymore.

I'd love to do a coffee table book of all old buildings like this. I think there is a period of architecture around the late 50s and early 60s that is so under-appreciated. We're tearing them down as eyesores today and will treasures them as rarities tomorrow.

The beautiful Queen Anne Victorians that people cherish today were thought of a gauche and ugly in the early part of this century. People who couldn't afford to tear them down and rebuild tried to hide them by ripping all the gingerbread off and repainting them white. Only now are a few being restored to their former radiance.

I think the same will happen to the relatively few 50s and 60s banks, motels and office buildings which eventually survive the wrecking ball.
