A beautiful downtown minor league park but with a very sad history of its names.
It started out as Pilot Field in 1988. That's a nice, decent, respectable name. Less than three months into the 1995 season it was renamed for a local HMO - North AmeriCare Park. Disgusting. Then the 1999 season saw a new name for the stadium - Dunn Tire Park. Also disgusting.
What a great country America is in so many ways. However the corporate sports and concert venue naming game proves in one way how disgusting this country can be.
A stadium or arena or amphitheater should not have more than 1 name during its lifetime. It certainly shouldn't have THREE names in 11 years.
I wonder what Pilot North AmeriCare Dunn Tire Field Park's next name will be.
