Elin Brekke Vanderlip is the widow of the late Kelvin Vanderlip. Kelvin's father was Frank Vanderlip, a New York banker and journalist who was president of National City Bank of New York (now Citibank) and Assistant Secretary of the Treasury from 1897 to 1901, and took part in funding the Federal Reserve System. He was known as the "Father of Palos Verdes", having owned 16,000 acres of the peninsula, and was instrumental in its' developement.
