Oakdale, California (CA), US
On July 30, 2012, a park was dedicated to the memory of Eric Medlen in his hometown. Medlen was an NHRA Top Fuel Funny Car driver who died on March 23, 2007, at the age of 33.

His death was the result of a closed-head injury during a testing session in Gainesville, Florida. His car developed a severe vibration, which caused his helmet to rattle against the car's roll cage. As a result, his car owner, John Force, created the Eric Medlen Project to design a safer car.
