Ernie Pyle House & Library

Ernie Pyle House & Library (StreetView)
This is the former house of the famous war correspondent and Pulitzer Prize winner Ernie Pyle, who was killed in the Pacific in 1945 by a Japanese sniper.

He designed this house in 1930 and lived here until 1940. Some of his columns refer to this house. Nowadays, many things in and around the house were preserved from the time he lived here. The house also contains many memorabilia, several books owned by him and an archive. It is also a National Historic Landmark.
