Exchem Defence Systems Ltd is based on a remote 1200 acre site close to the international ports of Felixstowe and Harwich. Licensed under the Explosives Act of 1875 & 1923, facilities are available for the storage of up to 600 tonnes (NEQ) with specialised storage facilities for weapons systems.

Retaining many of the facilities from nearly a century of history in the manufacture, handling, and storage of explosives, Exchem Defence Systems Ltd is today ideally placed to offer a service for the integration, loading and storage of a wide variety of weapon systems and their associated hardware.

Exchem Defence Systems Ltd can provide traditional and PBX loading as well as facilities for repacking of ammunition and other explosive and non-explosive items. An experienced team of technicians conducts this work, following extensive training and validation exercises undertaken in conjunction with the Customer.

In addition to the storage of explosives, the site is registered high tier COMAH enabling us to offer storage, wharfage and handling facilities for other dangerous goods. Exchem Defence Systems Ltd will also undertake destruction of explosive components and materials by burning or detonation. Additional capabilities for the testing of explosives include
