A statue of Hungarian race car driver Ferenc Szisz is on display at the entrance to the Hungaroring circuit. Szisz won the first French Grand Prix at Le Mans in 1906. As with many drivers of his era, his racing career effectively ended with the outbreak of World War I. Szisz served with the French army.
