Floyd's Bluff - Lewis & Clark expedition

Floyd's Bluff - Lewis & Clark expedition (StreetView)
Charles Floyd was an explorer on the Lewis & Clark expedition. In late July 1804 he became ill and died of what most historians believe to be a ruptured appendix. His funeral was held on a bluff overlooking the Missouri River, "Floyd's Bluff". An obelisk named "Sergeant Floyd Monument" stands close to the burial.
