I know, I know, but to 99.999999% of us Yanks, that's a soccer ball! When football's the most popular game in the world, why do we have our own version that's completely different yet called the same name?! We should have called our football soccer and kept football football so it would be the same around the world. Perplexing. And will the U.S. ever make the Round of 16?!? We have some great (American) football teams here... but a lousy national football (soccer) team.

Ahhh, well.... Go Arsenal!!!!

All over the world, this is called football. Football, because play with hands is not allowed. And your football, with rules close to the rugby, is called american Football.

But as long as you call Germany for Deutschland, Spain for España, you can call it soccer.

Well, there isn't the tilde in the English language so can't have España. But why is Nederland converted to Netherlands? Italia is Italy? These things make no sense to me.
