The facility is on the EPA's Superfund list, with 20 waste sites including toxic sludge dumps, and a fire training area where diesel fuel has contaminated soil and water. Was a SAC bomber base. Still has a National Guard refueling wing based here.

The Special Weapons area was located to the northwest of the base.
