Former Rønne Øst Railway Station

Former Rønne Øst Railway Station (StreetView)
"De Bornholmske Jernbaner" were three routes through Bornholm. The three lines were: Nexøbanen (opened 1900 - closed 1968), Allingebanen (opened 1913 - closed 1968) and Gudhjembanen (opened 1916 - closed 1968). The three lines closed because more people on Bornholm started to use cars.

Most of the station buildings on Bornholm are now preserved.

Nexøbanen was from Rønne to Nexø
Allingebanen was from Rønne to Hammershus (a little harbour track in Allinge was also part of this track)
Gudhjembanen was from Almindingen to Gudhjem.

Rønne Øst Station (Rønne East) was located in the Eastern part of Rønne, Bornholm, Denmark. Rønne Øst served trains on "Nexøbanen".

Rønne Øst had one platform and a station building. The platform has been demolished and the station building is now a private house. You can still see the words "Rønne Ø" on the building. A cycle and walk path now goes along the track bed.
