Former Saint-Martin Metro Station

Former Saint-Martin Metro Station (StreetView)
Saint-Martin station was a metro station on lines 8 and 9 in Paris, France. The station was located between the stations Strasbourg - Saint-Denis and République.

The station opened in 1923 and closed 2nd September 1939 during the start of WWII. The station later reopened but closed as it was only located 100m from the nearby station of Strasbourg - Saint-Denis.

What's left today:
The whole station has been left behind, but is heavily graffitied. The station entrance has been blocked and locked so you cannot access it. Homeless people used the station as shelter and the eastern section is currently being used as a homeless shelter controlled by the Salvation Army. In 2008 the rails were cemented over.
