Fort de Bertheaume is a fort located on a tidal island near the commune of Plougonvelin which is on the Atlantic coast of France not far from Brest. The site dates back to the Stone Age and the fort has been improved upon over the years from the Middle Ages up to World War II. Today a footbridge connects the island to the mainland and the lower battery has been converted to an exhibition space, an open-air theatre and restaurant.
