Wheeler purchased this home in 1927 from businessman Henry Sanderson. Originally named 'La Selva', Wheeler changed the name to 'Delwood'.

The home was converted into St. Francis Monastery until 2001 when it was sold to Sylvia Kumar, wife of convicted securites fraudster, Sanjay Kumar.
