Frogmore Plantation was constructed ca. 1820 by Dr. Edward Mitchell of Waccamaw, when he married Elizabeth Baynard of Edisto Island. The house is significant architecturally and agriculturally as a distinctive remnant of an antebellum sea island cotton plantation.
