On Monday 6th March 2023, Reinhard OE7RGF/P, a radio amateur from Austria reached the summit of Gaiskogel and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 32 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40, 20, 17 and 15 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Gaiskogel is 2820 metres (9252 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
