Gangster Anthony Spilotro's Former Home

Gangster Anthony Spilotro's Former Home (StreetView)
This Las Vegas home once belonged to Anthony " Tony The Ant" Spilotro, a known gangster and enforcer for the Chicago Mafia in Las Vegas during the 1970s and 1980s.

Spilotro's job was to protect and oversee the Outfit's illegal casino profits (the "skim"). Spilotro's boyhood friend, Frank "Lefty" Rosenthal secretly ran the Stardust, Fremont, Marina and Hacienda casinos for the Chicago outfit while Spilotro acted as muscle.

Spilotro's reign as mob enforcer would come to a violent end in 1986, when he and his brother Michael were discovered in a shallow grave in an Indiana corn field. An autopsy would was later show that Tony and his brother sustained a horrific beating beating before being buried alive.

In the 1995 film "Casino" Spilotro would be portrayed by actor Joe Pecsi under the character name, "Nicky Santoro."
