The home was formerly owned by Joseph Spitz Breskman.

He was CEO of Sentry Paint Technologies.

After graduating Penn, he set off to explore the New England coast during which he sought out and spent time visiting with Robert Frost and worked as a lumber jack in northern New Hampshire and spent time exploring the region. Shortly after he attended Catholic University to obtain a graduate degree in chemistry, but interrupted his studies to join the U.S. Navy. During World War II, he served in the Pacific campaign, spending almost two years on Guam as a U.S. Navy Meteorologist.

In 1949, Mr. Breskman founded Sentry Paint & Chemical Company in Philadelphia, Pa. and manufactured paint finishes for industry and the military. He rapidly expanded his business and built or purchased factories in California, Indiana, and Kentucky. He had a passion for manufacturing, was a solid leader and set the standard for a strong work ethic with his employees and family. He was an avid tennis player and a veracious reader.

Mr. Breskman embraced the capital spirit, was never adverse to risk and thoroughly enjoyed being entrepreneur. He developed and marketed remedies through his father's research as an M.D., developed real estate opportunities and bought, built and developed many businesses throughout his lifetime. Mr. Breskman generously funded a reproductive development laboratory in his name at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa., as well as Ben Gurion University in Israel. Mr. Breskman is a past member of Radnor Valley Country Club, The Union League of Philadelphia, The Palm Beach Round Table. Mr. Breskman loved to entertain and enjoyed meeting and developing relationships throughout his lifetime.
