Best known for his work with The Beatles, Martin and his record company signed the then unknown act and started to put out records. Almost overnight the band had exploded, in part because of the contributions of Martin. Given his input and support of the band in these earliest days, many refer to him as the “Fifth Beatle”. Other notable acts that he worked with include Elton John, Kenny Rogers, Cheap Trick, Gary Glitter, and even Celine Dion. His work even made it into films, as he wrote three of the movies main title songs.

Though Martin himself never struggled with the fame and attention he was able to earn a comfortable living, going on to support other pop bands. His claim to fame as one of the earliest Beatle contributors, and his own talent for record production has earned Martin a net worth of over $400 Million, thats early half a billion dollars!

Martin died in his sleep on the night of 8 March 2016 at his home at the age of 90. He was survived by his wife, Judy Lockhart Smith and their four children. He is greatly missed by the music community as one of the greatest contributors to music history.
