The Central German war memorial for the German soldiers fallen in Libya is on a hill above the city in Tobruk. It is a square of 40 x 40 metres with four round towers at the corners. 6.026 soldiers were rebury, including the German flying ace Hans-Joachim Marseille ("The star of Africa"). The monument was inaugurated by the Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge folk society 1955. (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tobruk)
