The reason the view was not what you expected is the settings you used in Bing Maps. In this case, in order to have the view match the thumbnail, "show angled view" must be disabled. "Show angled view' should only be enabled for views that are zoomed way in (BEV), such as http://virtualglobetrotting.com/map/gurnee-water-tower/ . Also, "show labels" should be disabled for all Bing Maps submissions.
