On Sunday 3rd July 2022 Andy OE6ADE/P a radio amateur from Austria reached the summit of Glingspitze and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 28 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the and 10 metre HF amateur radio bands.

The summit of Glingspitze is 2433 metres (9882 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
