On Saturday 16th July 2022 Dale AA7OY a radio amateur from Alpine, AZ reached the summit of Gobbler Peak and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 23 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40, 20 and 17 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Gobbler Peak is 2718 metres (8917 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
