Greyfriars Bobby was a Skye Terrier who after his owner, John Gray, death in 1858 the dog stayed at his grave for 14 years when it died.

The dog got his last resting place at the churchyard not far from John Gray's site.

The sculpture of the dog is place on a drinking fountain for humans and dogs. Today the fountain is out of service.
