On Saturday 18th March 20223, Ajib YG3DEB, a radio amateur from East Java, reached the summit of Gunung Batok and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 7 contacts in total working on the 10 metre HF amateur radio band.
The summit of Gunung Batok is 2440 metres (8005 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
