Canadian professional ice hockey player Guy Lafleur’s house was located on Île-Bizard, an island community that is now a part of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Guy Lafleur was born in Thurso, Quebec in 1951 and began playing hockey at the age of five. He was a standout player from the very beginning, setting goal-scoring records in both pee wee and junior leagues. He was drafted first overall by the Montreal Canadiens in 1971. Lafleur played 14 seasons with the Canadiens, winning five Stanley Cups, three Art Ross trophies (for the NHL’s leading scorer), two Hart trophies (League MVP), and the 1977 Conn Smythe award for playoff MVP. He was the first player to score 50 goals and 100 points in six consecutive seasons. Injuries and declining play led Lafleur to retire in 1985, though he returned to the league in 1988 and played three more seasons for the New York Rangers and Quebec Nordiques.

Guy Lafleur married Lise LaFleur in 1973. He is survived by their two sons, Mark and Martin, and granddaughter Sienna-Rose.
