When the Germans left, the Americans of the U.S. Air Force and the 8th corps took possession of it until 1945. This allowed the townspeople of Chantilly to experience the American style of living for a year, with parades, baseball and football games, not to mention the balls and jazz concerts. This prestigious hotel ceased its activity after World War II and was subsequently divided into apartments which were sold to individuals, thus becoming a private residence.
