On Saturday 25th2022 Rene HB9NBG/P and Carine HB9FZC two Swiss radio amateurs from Grindell reached the summit of Haldensteiner Calanda and activated the summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

Both Rene and Carine made 18 contacts in total working on the 20 and 40 metre amateur radio bands.

The Summit of Haldensteiner Calanda is 2804 metres (9200 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups data base. It is the highest mountain within the Calanda Massif.
