Harrison Ford's Plane

Harrison Ford's Plane

Santa Monica, California (CA), US
Parked at Santa Monica airport, this looks like the plane that Harrison Ford was flying when he crashed onto the 8th hole of Penmar golf course.

No longer there in Google Maps imagery.

This looks like it could be a P22 but the engine cowl and tail is not the right color for Harrison Ford's plane. Engine cowl on Ford's plane is dark red and half the vertical stab is red/white horizontal strips also the prop isn't the right color either. It's possible that there are covers over the tail and the engine cowl, it's hard to tell. Or it could be pre-restoration. But Ford is known for hangering his planes. Great find though and is a definite possibility that it is his plane.

I took a closer look at this and the wingtips are not right. The P22 has more rounded wingtips So this is probably not a Ryan P22 Recruit or Harrison Ford's plane.

Also, the Ryan P22's wings are not tapered.
