Heinrich-Harrer (7/6/1912 to 1/7/2006) was an Austrian mountaineer, geographer, sportsman and author. He was perhaps best known for his time in Tibet with the 14th Dali Lama and the subsequent book, Seven Years in Tibet (1952). The museum is dedicated to Tibet.
