The mission of the Western Army National Guard Aviation Training Site(WAATS) is to conduct Department of the Army, individual qualification training as well as professional development courses. All formal courses taught at WAATS are TRADOC approved.
The training site was originally designed to train National Guard Soldiers in skills unique to the ARNG. Although a Field Operating Agency of National Guard Bureau, the WAATS is operated by the Arizona Army National Guard. Today we train students from all components of the U. S. Army as well as several foreign countries.
