This historic sign for Hercules Cycles was painted on this building on Cross Street in Congleton when it was being used as a garage/engineering workshop.
The Hercules Cycle and Motor Company Limited was a cycle manufacturing company based in Birmingham which from its origins in 1910 when 25 cycles were produced per week by the late 1930’s was claimed to be the world’s biggest cycle manufacturer.
