On the evening of September 27, 2024, Israeli forces conducted a precise airstrike targeting Hezbollah's underground headquarters in the Haret Hreik area of Beirut, Lebanon. The operation, codenamed "New Order," involved F-15I fighter jets dropping more than 80 bombs, including 2,000-pound U.S.-made bunker buster bombs. These bombs were specifically designed to penetrate deep underground, where Hezbollah’s command center was located beneath several residential buildings.

The bombing successfully destroyed the underground complex, causing extensive damage to the above-ground structures. The powerful bunker buster bombs triggered the collapse of multiple residential buildings that were situated above the Hezbollah headquarters. The destruction was widespread, reducing the buildings to rubble, with large sections of concrete and steel littering the streets. The site of the strike was engulfed in smoke and debris, reflecting the massive scale of the operation.

Images of the aftermath show entire buildings reduced to ruins, with structural devastation extending throughout the area.
