On Monday 22nd August 2022, Kaz 7N1FRE/7 a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Hiuchigatake (Shibayasugura) and activated this summit on the radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 59 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Hiuchigatake (Shibayasugura) is 2356 metres (7730 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
