Monument by Tamás Varga to the 700 Jewish victims who were sent to an internment camp near Budapest and of whom 200 perished in concentration camps later. The two hand-written booklet pages are made of aluminium.

Inaugurated in April 2024.

This is a reminder that the Nazis imprisoned people not only in Germany, but in other nations also. I could not find or read the text on the aluminum. I hope it has a good message for those who walk past it.

The link you shared, I see now, says there is a list of names. "This is where the road was led in 1944 for the victims who, because of their Jewishness, were deported to the former Horthyliget intercenary and concentration camp, which was on the border of today's Szigetszentmiklós."

And: "It was supported by the National Association of Hungarian Journalists..."
