Honda Civic del Sol

Honda Civic del Sol

Chicago, Illinois (IL), US
Known as the CR-X del Sol in other markets despite the radical difference from its hot hatch predecessor, this targa-top sport compact from Honda was introduced in 1992, getting its name from the Spanish word for "of the sun", relating to its roof that is capable of being opened. Two trim levels were available for the del Sol, which were the S, offering a 1.5 I4, and the Si, equipped with a more powerful 1.6 4-cylinder. Beginning in 1995, the model was simply known as "del Sol.", until its end of production in 1997 for the U.S. and Canada and the following year elsewhere.
