Manufacturers of many types of auto racing tires. Oval track racing, road racing, drag racing, karting, and ATV's.

Founded in 1957 by Bob Newton, a race car driver who realized the need for a tire more suitable for racing than the street tires used in that era. At first, he produced softer retreaded tires, and eventually created his own new tire design in 1962.

Over the years, his tire designs evolved, and the company continued to grow. In 1988-89, they competed against Goodyear in NASCAR Winston Cup racing, winning 9 races in 1988 and the 1989 Daytona 500.

A second stint in Cup racing proved successful with 4 wins in 1994, but Hoosier bowed out that same year due to a NASCAR rule that required them to bring enough tires for the entire field at each event, even though only a select number of teams used their product.

Hoosier's manufacturing plant is located in nearby Plymouth, Indiana.
