On September 12, 2009, 51-year old census worker Bill Sparkman was found dead hanging from a tree at this remote cemetery in rural Clay County, Kentucky. He was found bound by duct tape with the word 'Fed' written on his chest with a felt-tip pen.

Sparkman was also a substitute teacher and a Boy Scout volunteer.

Ten weeks after his body was discovered, authorities ruled his death a suicide. They believe he made it appear he was murdered to enable his son to collect from a life insurance policy.
