On Tuesday 28th June 2022 Derek W7DLZ a radio amateur from Reno, NV reached the summit of Houghton, Mount and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 14 contacts in total working on the 40 and 15 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Houghton, Mount is 3197 metres (10489 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
