House from "A Love Song for Bobby Long"

Gretna, Louisiana (LA), US
This was the primary filming location for the 2004 film "A Love Song for Bobby Long" starring Scarlett Johansson, John Travolta, and Gabriel Macht.

In the film, this house was old and in need of numerous repairs. Today, the house has been renovated and is almost unrecognizable as the same building from the film. In fact, the neighboring homes from the film have since either been renovated or torn down.

The three main characters live in this house. Bobby Long (Travolta) is a former college professor. Lawson Pines (Macht) is a struggling writer. Purslane Hominy Will (Johansson) is a high-school dropout who inherits the house from her recently deceased mother.

Johansson was nominated for a Golden Globe award for best actress in a drama film.
