Chester Arthur Burnett (6/10/1910 – 1/10/1976), aka Howlin' Wolf was a blues singer, guitarist and harmonica player from White Station, Mississippi. Wolf received his name due to his attempt at yodeling in the fashion of country singer Jimmie Rodgers. His yodel sounded more like a howl, hence the name. His best know songs were: "Smokestack Lightnin'", "Back Door Man", "Killing Floor" and "Spoonful".
